Why One moment a train can be moving along normally; the perfect picture of American railroad transportation. Suddenly, disaster strikes and train cars weighing thousands of pounds are reduced to twisted, fractured wrecks. The National Railroad Museum explores the shear catastrophe of train wrecks in its new photographic exhibit Big Accidents Happen. The exhibit features 11 photographs from the Museum’s collection, which tell the story of train disasters in the early- to mid-1900s.
How Hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Saturday and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday. Big Accidents Happen is included in the regular admission.
